Why Work with a Child Sleep Consultant?

Are you a parent searching for the ever elusive full night’s sleep? Navigating children’s sleep often feels like trying to solve an always changing rubik’s cube. With an ocean of information at our fingertips, it can feel overwhelming and exhausting to even know where to begin and what advice to follow.

Whether you’re a parent to a newborn who refuses to sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time, a toddler who’s fighting bedtime like a mini warrior, or an older child who still struggles to sleep through the night, welcome. I’m a mum to two energetic young boys who each threw me their own unique curveballs when it came to sleep. I know how exhausting it can feel trying to navigate through this haze.

You might be wondering, why work with a sleep consultant? Can’t you just figure it out on your own? Perhaps, like me, you’ve already tried reading all the books, scouring the internet for advice, and following every sleep training hashtag on Instagram. I was right there with you, desperate for answers, until I finally reached out to a sleep consultant for help. I never looked back!

Tailored Support for Your Family

Every child and every parent is different, and every family has its own parenting style. That’s why a one-size-fits-all approach to sleep training doesn’t work. My approach is rooted in the science of sleep and evidence-based methods, but more importantly, it’s tailored to fit your unique situation. Whether you prefer a gentle sleep training approach or have a specific parenting philosophy, I’ll work with you to create a plan that aligns with your values and meets your child’s specific needs.

Debunking Common Concerns

As a child sleep consultant, one of the most common worries I hear from parents is “does sleep training mean I have to let my child cry it out?” Absolutely not. Let me reassure you: sleep training is not about ignoring your child’s cries and sleep training doesn’t mean that you have to leave your baby alone to cry. There are many different methods that work with children of all different temperaments. It’s also important to remember that crying is a baby’s only way to communicate, and understanding what they’re trying to tell us is key to helping them (and you) get better sleep. We’ll work together to find a solution that you’re comfortable with, and that supports your child’s emotional well-being as well as their sleep needs.

Support to help you through the tough parts

I’ve had the privilege of working with many families who were in the same boat you’re in now - exhausted, frustrated, and just about ready to give up on the dream of a full night’s sleep. But with a personalised sleep plan, their children went from waking multiple times a night to sleeping through the night and enjoying long, restorative naps. The impact on the entire family’s well-being was immediate and profound. For more insights into how my approach has transformed sleep for other families, you can read their Google reviews here.

My Journey

My own journey into the world of sleep consulting began out of sheer necessity. After a blissful period in the newborn bubble with my first son, we hit the dreaded “four month sleep regression” early. After too many sleepless nights, I was hungry to find a solution. I devoured every piece of information I could find about infant sleep, I followed all the blogs, tried all of the tips, but it wasn’t until I worked with a sleep consultant that I truly understood how to apply that knowledge effectively. The difference it made was life-changing, sparking a passion in me to help other families in the same way.

Now, as a certified child sleep consultant through the Family Sleep Institute, I bring that passion, along with my professional experience, to every family I work with. My primary degree in social science offers me a unique perspective on human behaviour, enriching my approach to understanding and addressing your family's sleep challenges. My problem-solving skills and deep understanding of the science of sleep allow me to help you navigate the ever-evolving puzzle of your child’s sleep, no matter how many curveballs they throw your way.
